I know it is a cliche but Niall’s passing really must be a relief for everyone concerned in the family. He was so well looked after in so many ways but had not really enjoyed a "life" since even before Mai died.
It is so hard for us to think of both of them gone, leaving behind so many special memories - nights in the Stephenson house and at many other house bridge nights. Niall was reserved - particularly in the light of some of the noisey male company (me included). But every now and again he would get in a word and share a relevant experience. He was a very gentle and kind soul and was always happy to let others go on as they would like.
His funeral should be a celebration of a life fully lived and a family well reared. He will be with Mai again, where he always seemed so happy and content.
