Niamh Sedas

Je ne sais pas par où commencer, tant de souvenirs se bousculent dans ma tête et mon cœur.
La nouvelle du décès de Niamh m'a profondément bouleversée et dévastée.

Même si des années ont passé sans la revoir, j'ai un souvenir précis et intensément doux des moments passés ensemble. J'ai gardé beaucoup d'amour et de gratitude pour elle, pour vous. Je me souviendrais toujours de sa douceur, de sa tendresse, de son sourire, de sa générosité et de sa capacité à transmettre des choses avec beaucoup de simplicité à l'enfant que j'étais.
C'est une figure d'attachement forte pour moi. Un membre de ma famille de coeur. Elle était comme ma maman irlandaise.

Je voudrais envoyer tout mon soutien et mon amour à la famille Sedas, à Edgard bien sûr, et à leurs enfants avec qui j'ai grandi un peu : les vacances d'été et les instants passés dans votre famille au Portugal, à Cork, ou à Paris dans ma toute petite enfance, ont été des moments forts et importants pour ma sœur Aurélia, et moi. Nous serions heureuse de vous revoir.

Coïncidence ou non, Niamh tu es apparue dans mes rêves quelques jours avant que je n'apprenne ton départ... Tu resteras à jamais une lumière dans mon cœur.

We are so sorry to hear of Niamh's passing. For many years she was part and parcel of life in the Senior Room in Gurrane NS. Pupils left school with confidence and a grounding in French before they went to Secondary, and Niamh shared her enthusiasm for French culture with us all. Everyone relished the French Breakfast each summer to finish the term, and so many children have fond memories of drinking their hot chocolate from bowls, with the croissants. Niamh was always in great spirits and such a welcome addition to the staff. Our sincere condolences to her family and her wide circle of friends.

I met her in Dublin with Daire a few times and she was great fun and we always heard stories of great times in Innishannon and strong family bonds were very obvious.

We were so sad to learn of Niamh’s passing, she was always a pleasure to meet, both when our children were in school and later out and about. She was always so kind and gentle.

Niamh was such a warm and kind woman with a great sense of humour. It never took too long in her company before you would end up laughing. I fondly remember all my visits to her house, spins home in her car and especially French grinds. Somehow through all the laughter she still managed to teach us, a credit to her teaching skills!

I was so saddened by the death of lovely Niamh. Condolences to all her family. I have wonderful memories of fun times both at school and in Paris with Niamh. She had an infectious smile and laugh. May Niamh rest in peace.

We are so sad to hear that Niamh has gone to her eternal reward. She ignited a love of the French langauge and culture in our students during her years as a French teacher in our school. The annual petit déjeuner was a highlight for our senior students.
