Nicholas (Nick) Coffey

With sincere sympathy to Nick's family at this time of immense loss. I worked with Nick for a short but unforgettable time in RTÉ Television many years ago. I recall Nick's exuberance, knowledge and quick wit with warmth and affection. He was a wonderfully generous colleague. Rest in Peace, Nick.

Mark, Susan, David and to the rest of Nicks family,

He was such a considerate man with inquisitive nature in people. Always asking ‘how is my dear boy?’ and cracking a joke. In school Nick brought myself and Mark to his beloved Cooley Peninsula, sharing landscapes, stories, great meals and one of his favourite albums Forever Changes with me. There are plenty of stories to share and tell but the reoccurring pattern amongst them all is his generous soul and love of people. Of course he will be missed but he is firmly held in our hearts and his encounters will leave a mark on all of us. His kind words and thoughts are passed on to us and will continue to live on in the world. I will play Forever Changes today, thinking of being driven up to Dundalk in the car having great chats with Nick and Mark. Next time I see the Cooley Mountains I will always think of Nick and how lucky I am to have Mark as a friend. All those stories and great qualities live on with him and I am lucky to have such a great pal.
