Condolences to the Loughlin and extended family on the death of Nicky

I had heard Nick was unwell but I was surprised and saddened to learn of his passing. I knew from way back in the late seventies. Of course we had lost touch, he moved away from Arklow decades ago. Nick was so like his late father, the genial, avuncular, Liam. One of the most attractive qualities a human can possess is a generosity of sprit and Nick had it in spades. Always helpful, his light-hearted and non-judgemental disposition saw him highly regarded by so many. To those he left behind, his wife and children and other family members, I wish you strength through this difficult time.

It was with shock that we heard of Nick's death. He was a lovely man and great neighbour. Always great for the chat. Our deepest sympathy to Dorcas, Tom, Sean & Niamh and wider family. May he rest in peace.

Nicky was simply one of the finest people I have ever met. Both Nicky and Dorcas were wonderful friends to have and quasi young grandparents to my children. Nicky's company was always delightful and inciteful. A wonderful raconteur and devoted husband and father and more recently grandfather. Unfortunately, I am unable to attend tomorrow as I am out if the country but my thoughts will be with you all. Nicky will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.
