Dear Sorcha, Cliodhna,Cillian and all Nick's family and extended family.
I am so sorry for the loss you have all experienced with Nick's passing. Nick was such a warm and kind soul, so intelligent, but always interested in those around him.I spent many happy evenings in the company of Sorcha and Nick during those hazy Dublin nights and long days. It was always great to see him on any trips back home after I left Ireland. Things won't be the same without him.

We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Nick.
He was with our company for eight years, in that time he helped steer our company through immense growth, he added great value through his fluency in German, his knowledge and experience of Germany and his immense work experience.
Most importantly, he was incredibly kind.
He will be missed by his colleagues.

From obscure disco records to the intricacies of the Wexford half back line, Nick would offer a calm and knowledgeable opinion, never forceful and always interesting. I will miss these chats. It’s 2004, a mutual friend, Valeria is gushing about Damien Fitzhenry, the Wexford hurling goalkeeper of the day. She’d seen him pull off a string of wonder saves in Croke Park that afternoon. Valeria & hurling, let alone Wexford hurling, were two unconnected planets in my universe. How did these worlds come to orbit...”you haven’t met Nick and Sorcha? you’re in for a treat, they are amaaazing, you’re going to love them”. She was right.
Soon after our paths crossed on one of these friendly, fun, filled nights on the Belvedere dance floor. To me he glided through the world, and social circles with such ease. Treading lightly, always inclusive, kind, funny, an example of how to carry oneself. Always the conduit, introducing good people to other good people. Cologne, Dublin, Ireland, Barcelona.
The shared tragedy and scars of being a Wexford hurling supporter through the 1980s was a perennial topic. Shared knowing phrases about “state a yer wan” and things being “quare n deadly”: to share any association with Nick felt a privilege.
Easy words of wisdom, dropped into the silliest conversations like your favourite uncle slipping you a few quid...to go and buy yourself too many sweets…& you’re at a great hurling match…Wexford are winning of course.
Words from his wedding speech have never left me “everything I know about love is in this room”. He spread that love and made our world a richer place.

I am very sorry to hear of Nicky's passing. I spent many hours with him listening to and talking about music when we were teenagers. He introduced me to soul music you didn't find easily in Wexford in the 1980s. He once told me that he took a day off school to cycle to Dublin to pick up a Percy Sledge record that Freebird records had reserved for him. I wouldn't have believed it from any other person. We worked together as window cleaners one summer. It wasn't an entirely successful venture, as we spent most of our time hanging off ladders arguing about which Velvet Underground album was the best, and other such important topics. Still, it was always fun with Nicky and I remember the time well nearly 38 years later. Please accept my deepest sympathy on your loss.
