Nick was one of the first people I met when I returned to Ireland to go to Trinity College in the early 70s. I was dead lucky because he seemed to know everybody and introduced me to so many friends that I still have. He was editor of TCD Miscellany & he was great fun to work with. Only one of the gang became a famous writer (crime novelist Ken Bruen), guided, I’m sure, by Nick!
