Noel Byrne

Marie, Paul, Helena & Linda and your wider families my sincere sympathies on the death of your lovely dad Mr Byrne.
I have great childhood memories of your dad fairly regularly taking a gang of us home from swimming at the Guinness Swimming pool. (the deal was we got ourselves there) There were always some of you, some of the Murphy's / Doherty's/ Whelan's from Bregia Road & myself. I still can’t work out which was the biggest excitement the swimming pool (it was the 70’s) or the car trip back to Cabra. I definitely can’t work out where we all fitted in the car!
Adult memories are of always enjoying meeting your mam and dad around Cabra, having a chat & a laugh with them. Seeing them getting older together and observing how they continued to support and care for each other. It was unusual enough till fairly recently to meet one without the other. They were truly a lovely couple, so extraordinary in their ordinary decency, integrity and neighborliness.
You have each had huge losses in a very short space of time but I hope the memories you have and the thought of them together again is some comfort.
What a blessing to have known them and may they rest in peace.
