I am so very sorry to hear the sad news of Noel's passing. He was always the greatest friend to everyone in the Arts Building and was on the lookout for students and staff who needed his help. He was worried about me after my own mother's sudden death and checked up on me during his shift every day to make sure I was doing OK. He was the very kindest of men and his death is a terrible loss to his family and all his friends.

A kind and considerate colleagues for many years in TCD. Always had a yarn or story to share, a friendly colleague who was a friend to students and staff alike, Shared his duties with many who had soldiered in the WUI strike in February- March 1983. Gone but not forgotten. Be at peace Comrade. Sympathy to family and friends for the Raytowner. Jack.

Noel was a ray of sunshine in the Arts Block and he has been so missed since his retirement. He always greeted everyone with the biggest smile.
The most special personal thing for me and for my family was how Noel, along with Alan and Shay looked after my Mum when she was unwell and in the Arts Block. They always kept an eye out for her and showed her such kindness. Words can never express what this meant to all our family.
You were one in a million Noel.

On belief of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, we extend our deepest condolences to you on the sad loss of one of life's true gentlemen. Noel was a much valued colleague, and a larger than life character in the Arts Building. Greatly beloved by all who knew him, we remember him fondly as someone who went the extra mile to help others, who always had a smile, and who loved a good story. A professional to his fingertips, he knew and understood how to work with staff, students, members of the general public and esteemed visitors alike. He offered a warm and welcoming greeting to all who entered the Arts Building. Ní bheidh a leithéid le feiceáil arís. Suaimhneas síoraí dá anam.

The days seemed lighter when you crossed his path. He will be remembered by those lucky enough to know him. Condolences to his loved ones.
I am shocked and saddened to hear of the untimely death of Noel. I have known him and his brother Paul since we were children as my cousins, the Brennans, were neighbours in Ringsend. In more recent years, we used to meet and chat in Tolka Park on Friday nights as both of us are life long supporters of Shelbourne fc.

Sincere condolences to Sue, Darren, Ian and all Noel's family and friends. It was a shock and very sad to hear of Noel's passing. I worked in the Arts Building in Trinity College and many an early morning Noel would greet me with his smiling face and a funny comment to start the day and late evenings he would ask me "have you no home to go to"? When patrolling the Arts Building corridors he might arrive at the office door announcing "rapid response". Noel was cheerful, obliging, always helpful, a breath of fresh air. It was a pleasure to work with Noel, a colleague one could not forget.
Darren, Ian and family - my thoughts and prayers are with you and all the time at this sad time

My sincere sympathy to Noel's family. Noel used to brighten my day with his kindness and wit in the Arts Building at Trinity College. He was much missed following his retirement.
Was always great walking into the Arts Building and seeing Noel there. Sometimes you’d get a smile and a wave, and other times he’d call you over, as he had a good story for you, usually ending in a big roar of laughter on both sides. As well as the stories and laughs, he was professional and helpful – nothing was too much to ask, no problem too big. Deepest sympathies to Sue, Darren, Ian and Paul and all of Noel’s family on your loss.
