I was saddened to hear the news of Coleman's passing. I hauled a lot of timber for him back in the day and loved the chats and banter with him; he was a great man to work with. I was fortunate enough to have known Colman in Portlaoise in 70's and, together with his brother Brian, attended many hurling matches together in subsequent years. He was a loveable rogue , who never let the truth get in the way of a good story , especially when advising me of late defections from various Tipperary teams. The world will be a duller place for him passing.
