Noel was my first boss and mentor in Cork City Library when I started working there in 1971. He was an enlighten leader with a focus on primacy of service to the public rather than unquestioned adherence to established procedures. Noel's ready acknowledgement of staff competencies helped them to flourish professionally and personally. His informality was a breath of fresh air.
I will be forever grateful to Noel for his support and leadership.

I am deeply saddened to learn belatedly of the passing of Noel to his Eternal Place where he will rest in the Peace he deserves.Noel was my friend for many a day, I will always be privileged to have known such a "star" person and whom I thank for great memories.
