Noel Cummins

A gentleman, a scholar, and a real character. Many was the time he'd have a joke, an incisive legal point, and yet another joke within the space of two minutes at lunch break from the Four Courts. Ní bheidh a leithead aríst ann.

I was lucky enough to have Noel as a student and he taught me a lot. My deepest sympathies to Anouk, Andrew and all of Noel's family and friends.
We'll not see his like again. Rest in peace Noel.

My sincere condolences to Noel’s family on his untimely passing. He was a great character, such a witty and wise man, and I always enjoyed chatting to him during our Trinity days, and later, around the Four Courts. My thoughts are with his family at this difficult time and may he rest in peace.

My condolences to all who were close to Noel. I hadn't seen him in recent times, and assumed everything was o.k. Before he did law, we talked a lot about history; he would, of course, been very good, but law was the better decision. I remember the last time I saw him: he was passing by and I said something; he stopped -mid-step- and broke out laughing; I'll remember him that way. But it would be better to have the moment again.

Noel,

One of the few people I would try my damndest 'not' to talk to over in the Pub.

I will forever hold a lot of respect for you, and will fondly remember my time listening to your stories, or even your more simple tales or jokes. You wanted to help people, and made your work worthwhile, which is commendable.

You'd often surprise me by breaking into song, and standing to the occasion too.

After leaving Rathmines I would get random texts joking about Newcastle United, and me still being new to Ireland,
and away from home, I appreciated the relationship we always tried to maintain... The two of us last caught up in town together, not long ago.

Always a fond smile for the neighbouring table, a wink and some more craic to be had with new faces...

A cavalier attitude, a romantic and a dancer; truly someone who took part in life's game...

Sincere sympathies to Noel's family - I was sad to hear of his untimely passing. I used to meet Noel around the courts - he was very good company and was always exploring every angle for his clients.
