I have great memories of parties at East Hill when we were all young, they were great friends with mum and dad. Noel and Carole were marvellous hosts and great fun. Shane, Rachel, Amanda & Mark, I was very sorry to hear about the passing of Noel. He was such a live-wire and always had a good story and a glint in his eye whenever he popped in for a neighborly chat. He also made a great wedding car driver- hat and all!! As I scroll down the many tributes to Noel my mind goes back to the early 1950 ies and the time we spent together in Mungret College SJ in Limerick we were in the same class in my last two years.
Noel was an excellent student very popular with all his class mates
He was an excellent rugby player,winner of a City cup medal in Thomand Park He got a final trial for the Munster schools in Musgrave Park in 1954 We had wonderful years in school and later we had as al small group who got together in Dublin for lunch .but the numbers dwindled in recent years and now the group ihas lost an old pal He will be missed

Although Carole was our cousin, we really only knew herself and Noel as a pair. Particularly fitting that this is Grand National day as one of my earliest memories of them both, is of Noel organising the bets in our house, going to the bookies with them and then having an fun-filled afternoon watching the action together.

They have, with you, been threaded all through our lives whether in Sligo, Dublin, Easthill, or Ardnagrath, always fun, sharing both our joys and sorrows but above always a wonderful and supportive family presence.

We suspect the joy they shared with us all, is just getting underway as they get together again, in another and better place. Rest in Peace Noel.
