Dearest Susan, Eoghan &Aisling, we are so sorry for the devasting loss of Noel, your soul mate, and extremely proud hubby and father. It has been a lifetime since first meeting Noel as a school boy mad about cricket and table tennis, to the loved, respected and admired man who has bodily left our world too early. His impact from his work in education is clear to see in these pages and the wit, humour, intelligence, generosity, and that cheeky smile he brought to personal times spent with him will be sorely missed. We are grateful for the fun times spent together in both hemispheres and are holding you all in our hearts. it has been a very tough journey for you all and we hope that the memories of amazing times together, along with the support of family and good friends bring comfort on the sad days. Sincere condolences also to the extended Donnelly and Gibney families.
Love and hugs x

Martina, Frank, Jamie & Sarah-Jessica
Thank you for everything
Fond memories of a great teacher who always gave 100 percent to students. So sorry for your loss RIP Mr Donnelly, you will always be well remembered Meggan and Leanne Connell.
Sincere condolences to all of Noel's family and friends. He was definitely the best teacher in my 5years in MacDara's. Maths classes were made enjoyable with his enthusiasm and wit. He treated everyone with respect always no matter their ability.

My first intro to him was as a fresh 1st year, our class were left outside a classroom beside his for 30mins with no sign of a teacher, and got a bit rowdy. After many warnings, he gave the whole lot of us lines to write. Me (quiet as a mouse, who genuinely said nothing!) was much aggrieved and upset that I got lumped in with the rest of the noisy lot! and told my parents as much. A note followed to Mr Donnelly and he was so understanding and so sorry for causing me upset and was more than obliging to let me off without a line to write. Not many would be so kind.

I had him from 2nd year Maths right through to leaving cert and no doubt his great teaching helped me get better every year, and continue on through my degree where maths always featured.

He left a similar impression on so many students I'm sure.

R.I.P.
Sending my condolences to the Donnelly family, Mr Donnelly was a teacher to remember and such a nice man, most teachers were just teachers but Mr Donnelly was someone you could talk to as a person such sad news
Sincere condolences to Noel's family and friends. Always had a smile on his face and was always willing to offer a helping hand. May he rest in eternal peace.

My sincere condolences to the Donnelly family. I look back on my maths classes in St Mac Dara's with extremely fond memories. Mr Donnelly was very witty and his classes were always enjoyable. My sincere condolences to the Donnelly family. Sleep well Noel
Dear Susan, Eoghan, Aisling Tony, extended family and friends , I offer my sincerest sympathies on the passing of dear Noel. Although Noel taught both my daughter Helena and for a little while my son James , I had the great pleasure of meeting and speaking to him on several occasions too . He was always so kind considerate and witty . My daughter suffered a huge setback last year and was quite ill and when others turned their back on her , he pushed her on ,there was never a time she didn’t finish class with a smile on her face and completely upbeat , if not for Noel, Helena would never have done her leaving cert, Noel wasn’t just her Maths grind , he was her mentor , he was her friend, our friend , we adored him . Noel was a beautiful soul and will be truly missed We are heartbroken on his passing . Rest in peace Noel ❤️

Alison Helena and James
Condolences to Noels family and friends , He had an immense impact on my life and a piece of advice he gave me on the last day of 6th year will stick with me forever, he had a great humour and way of teaching and will be sadly missed RIP
Noel was a gentleman and a lovely soul. He had a gentleness about him that was palpable. He gave grinds to my daughter and his love of maths and of teaching was contagious. Its a lovely legacy that when I think of him, it makes me smile to have known, in some small way, this beautiful human being. Sending condolences to those he leaves behind. Ashleigh Xxx

Amazing teacher, rest in peace.
My sincere sympathies to Noel's family at this difficult time. I was fortunate enough to have Noel as a maths teacher for 5 years in Mac Daras. He had a real gift of teaching maths and made it an enjoyable/fun subject to learn. He was a fantastic teacher and the sole reason why I loved maths in School. Every person sitting at my table in his leaving cert class went on to a maths based degree at 3rd level, due to no small part to him. Noel had no ego, was very approachable and down to earth. He was an extremely fair teacher. An absolute gentleman with a great sense of humour. May he rest in peace.

The connection be forged with his students in Mac Dara’s was like no other.
