Noel Healy

My heartfelt condolences go out to Marie and Kay and to Margaret and Alan. When I read of Noel's death my reaction was one of great sadness mixed with enjoyable memories - memories of our days in Kilmacud in the 1950s. Noel would arrange performances by request in his garage in The Close when he was mastering the accordion. My own favourite was "The Happy Wanderer" which he delivered skillfully. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to have just heard the sad news. Noel’s passing fills me with feelings of nostalgia, especially of the Old Jury’s Irish Cabaret and the magical Irish dance music from Noel and his dad Albert. If you couldn’t dance to their exhilarating music then you simply couldn’t dance. Memories of my own dad Rory, and of Marie and Kay and the Young Dublin Singers too. My heartfelt condolences to all the Family.

As I write this heartfelt condolence, I am listening to my Uncle Jimmy’s CD,
“Through the Years,” with my Mom. Tears are flowing as we hear Jimmy sing
“Carrickfergus,” “Lady of Knock,” and the emotional moving rendition of
“My Lagan Love,” accompanied by Noel on the piano.
The CD is a compilation of the most touching Irish ballads sung by Jimmy and
arranged by Noel. Noel’s piano arrangements were magnificent.
I would be remiss if I did not tell how this wonderful CD uplifted my Aunt Bernie.
She listened to it all day every day, while residing at her assisted living facility.
She was beyond proud and honored to have a gifted and talented brother and cousin.
Auntie Bernie shared the CD with the nursing staff, and they sang along with her and
enjoyed and loved the music. She asked me to send her additional CDs – Uncle Jimmy
ran out of them. Jimmy and Noel’s CD has brought joy and happiness to so many
coast-to-coast.
I am sure all the angels and saints in Heaven are putting a band together, and Uncle
Tommy is leading the group and saying, “The Lads are all joining him for a big great
Irish Session in the Sky.”
Marie, we watched Noel’s Mass; it was an inspiriting and beautiful service. Sarah is
keeping the music alive – her voice is “Angelic.”
Again, Joe McPhail’s family and all the McPhails offer our deepest sympathies as we
share in your sadness. Sending all of you our prayers of comfort.

Noel was great company and an absolute gentleman. My best memory of Noel is of that special day in Marie & Kieran's life on 20th Jun '86. He too chose the 'John Dory' in the King Citric which we both had a good laugh about many times afterwards. Rest in Peace Noel.

So sad my childhood friend has left us. We were close friends growing up as well as cousins
and shared our love of music, although he was the brilliant one. I will always remember our
after school snacks of Tayto chips and having tea with my Mom, Maggie. I will always cherish
the wonderful times we shared. These memories will stay with me always. Noel, I love you
to the moon and back and I know you are with the angels making everyone happy with your
music. RIP dear cousin.
