My deepest sympathy to all of Noel’s family. Noel was a gentle gentleman and his cup was never half empty, always half full. He was a brilliant teacher and will be sadly missed, especially by all those players that he taught to play golf. Noel was in no small way responsible for the success of Rathbane GC in the early days and he encouraged many people to take up the game. RIP

Wonderful tributes to Noel over the last few days. You could feel the love and respect people had for him in the church today. He had an amazing family who took such fantastic care of him throughout his illness which he bore with dignity. Thinking of you all as you grieve for him. We are not related but remember many years ago when we were home on holidays from England our Father Joseph (from Killaloe Co Clare) taking us to Castletroy Golf Club to the Pro Shop where your Father Noel had made two sets of Cadet Golf Clubs for us, the memory is still so fresh, the Clubs were unique, he made us one Wood each with our surname "Cassidy" engraved into the black painted Wood. The other Clubs were a Sandwedge, a Putter & another Iron. A small starter set to encourage us to play by our own wonderful Dad.
They were in smaller sized leather Golf bags & were gifts from our Dad a "Golf Fanatic" & great player himself..
The idea of our Dad to have them made for us by your Father was a great surprise for us.
We hope the "Golfing Cassidy men" have met again & will share stories of their huge interest in the game of Golf.
May Noel rest in Heavenly Peace.
