As Noel begins his final journey today, I think of his family, friends, colleagues and pupils of St Pats boys school. You have all lost a great friend. Noel was a great part of St Patrick’s College too, as a day didn’t go by but he’d be in the College, always with a smile and a chat. My sincere condolences to John, Geraldine, Grace and Herbert on the loss of Noel. Like his father before him, Noel spent most of his working life serving the community of St. Pat’s. An ex Pat’s boy, as were John & Herbert, Noel seemed to be part of the fabric of St. Pat’s School. Teachers and Principals came and went but Noel remained a constant.
I was a colleague of Noel’s for many years, both as a teacher and later as Principal. I can honestly say that he was the most loyal, good-humoured and trustworthy colleague and friend.
St. Pat’s will never be the same without him.
