It was with great sadness that I heard of Noel's passing. My condolences to Aoife, Fionnuala and Colm, Michael and Emer. I spent many happy years in Bull with Noel. A bright man who loved his family and extended family and was so proud of you all. Rest in peace Noel. You are all remembered in my prayers.

I was so sad when Gerry called me on Sunday to tell me his dearest friend Noel had gone to heaven . They have been friends for nearly 50 years . We have had so many treasured memories of very happy times .

Not just an uncle but a life-long friend whose generous support and gentle advice were always available. Noel was a man of deep culture and erudition on topics as varied as Bach's preludes as to where to get the best pint of Guinness in Dublin. I owe both himself and Mary, who went before him, so much. Sad news

Noel was the head of Bull in Ireland for the short time I knew him

He struck me as unique
He was an intelligent decent soft spoken and kind man.

His loss will be tough on his family
