It was with deep sadness I heard of Nonie's death. When I was a student in the vocational school in Lanesboro St., Nonie was on the teaching staff. She had an amazing overview of the school yard, as she walked through it. She had a great teaching ethic, including fairness & discipline. She was an attentive listener, who's presence meant you'd remember being in her company. Everyone who attended the Vocational School will fondly remember Nonie. Deepest sympathy to all her family, neighbours and friends.

Her love and dedication to bringing out the best in us, her broad perspective on many topics, her lively wit and her high standards and values gave us a firm foundation for life. Her Christmas cards which I cherished receiving for over 50 years and her lively interest in her past pupils made her an outstanding lady, whose memory I will always hold dear.
