Throughout my activist life in politics, I always encountered Nora.
We both came from a Fianna Fáil background but seemed to have more in common with the Republican left in Irish society.
We marched together as the Fianna Fáil group against extradition through the streets of Dublin.
We were both members and Past Presidents of the 1916-1921 club.
Throughout her life Nora was a committed republican and a civil rights activist.
We shall not see her likes again.

You can all be proud of a wonderful lady who I could call a true friend along with her late husband Ollie. For many many years she was a great friend to me and support through some difficult times and her phone calls were always Entertaining g and interesting, these will be missed. Nora was also a Pitch & Putt player and beat me on one occasion Which she never let me forget. She also pulled Tug of War on the strawberry beds and as she said herself she nearly lost part of her anatomy. Nora was a truly genuine person and you would not pull the wool over her eyes very easily.
It was a great honour to have known Nora all my life.

Sincere sympathy to all Nora's extended family. Our paths crossed many times on political issues . Anti extradition, Miscarriage of Justice cases , Irish National Congress and the 1916-1921 Club. Both of us served as President of the Club and Nora served with distinction in 2016 on the centenary anniversary of the Rising.

A great family friend. Truly outspoken and never afraid to express her opinion in private or public settings. Nora knew better than most what it meant to be a republican. Many a grest night in her kitchen. She kept the faith and the rest of us honest. A wonderful person.

We are very sad to hear of Nora’s passing. She was a great friend particularly to Jim when he was chairperson of the Blanchardstown and Castleknock History Society. I think I remember that she also was chairperson for a while and was very capable. Nora was a wonderful person and her hall door was always open and she greeted people with open arms. Nora loved her country and the people in it. She was also a great historian and I often got information from her great knowledge. We are very sorry to lose a very good friend. To all Nora's family, we wish we had words to make Nora's passing a little easier. She was a great charachter and we enjoyed many nights of banter, fun, music and singing in the Wrens Nest over the years. Nora's warmth, passion and spirit will never be too far away. Rest easy Nora.

So sorry to hear about Nora's passing. I've fond memories of working with her on the Dublin 1798 and Robert Emmet Bicentenary Committees over 20 years ago. She passionate in what she believed in but had a great sense of kindness and humour also.

She'll be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

It's the end of an era.
What a woman, the stories Nora could tell. I can remember visiting Mrs White when I was a child she was great for the stories and then later on with Nora, she used to do the garden stall at the Strawberry Fair.
Nora had such a love of nature. I would say the birds and the animals in the Strawberry beds were kept going by Nora's tit bits.
Nora was a great woman for the garden too, think she had green fingers.
I always found Nora to have such a young mind and you could talk to her about anything nothing would shock her.
It will be sad to no longer see her out the front with her walking stick poking the plants as she walked by.
We got the most adorable cats from Nora "Merlin" with a tail like a Squirrel and Ms Melanie a tortoiseshell cat who lived to be 22 she was a beauty.
Cats were big for Nora I think she liked them more than Humans !!
She adored her family Joe, Dervla, Susan and Sinead she had time for you all. She adored her brother Pat and they got on so well.
The Strawberry Beds will never be the same without her a fountain of knowledge. The Late Brian Linehan was a regular visitor for a yarn and Mary Lou McDonald long term friends if you were a friend of Nora's you were a friend for life. Even in latter years the career's loved coming to visit her and she was so grateful for their visits.
I'm sure Nora and my Dad are having a right old catch up they were always kindred spirits.God Bless ya Nora, we had many the good chats x till we meet again.

Have great memories of being on the tug o war team with her, representing the Wren's Nest at the Strawberry Fairs in the 1970s. To Joe, Susa, Dervela, Sinead and family of Nora, I am fortunate to have so many memories of Nora from her walking up the road with Sinead in the pram to her supervising our youth club and discos in the Lower road school. Since my mother Maureen passed away Nora was my go to for information about the Strawberry beds. Rest in peace Nora🙏
