I was so saddened to hear of the passing of Sister Devaney. I was Hospital Administrator in Roscommon Hospital from 1988 to 1999. We always called Nora, Sister Devaney as we all respected her & the role she carried out in such a professional & caring manner.
She was always out there to welcome everyone patients, visitors & everyone who came to the hospital. She was very very committed to providing a quality, caring & personal service to every patient & out patient to the hospital. She was also very attentive to all the staff of the hospital.
She was such a kind & caring person & was always looking out for everyone.
Its so sad that due to Covid restrictions, I was unable to attend the various funeral ceremonies to show our respects for a great health care professional & caring person.
I was delighted to read the lovely, respectful eulogy which Marie Doorly of Roscommon Hospital delivered at her Funeral Mass.
May Nora Rest in Peace.
Her final resting place in Achonry,Tubercurry, Co Sligo is a few miles from my original home in Coolaney Co Sligo.The next time I am home I will visit her grave.
