My heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Nora at this sad time. Although I am not a personal acquaintance, I had the pleasure, initially, of speaking (and laughing) with Nora on occasions over the years to assist with appointments and would then meet with Nora on her attendances, whereupon she would charm all present with her grace, quick wit and lively, entertaining conversation. May your wonderful memories and the beautiful tributes to Nora provide some comfort to you all.

My deepest sympathy to Michele and Martina on the death of their dear Mam, Nora. Nora was a dear life long friend of my late aunt, Myra Roche and also of my father, Con Ryan. Dad stayed regularly in Islandganniv with Nora and her husband Mick during the Listowel races during which many happy tales of times past were shared and enjoyed! I had the pleasure of meeting Nora many times in later years and was always struck by her genuine interest and kindness to me. What an ambassador for the arts and for Listowel! Thank you, dear friend, Nora, for all your kindness to me and to the Ryan family. Rest in peace, dear Nora.

Jerome Stack, Listowel and Castleisland.
Nora Relihan always gave her best, her almighty best.
She reigned supreme on the Listowel stage, igniting the theatrical world with her unforgettable portrayal of Mena in the1959 world premiere of Sive at Walsh’s Hall in Listowel.
She never looked back and was a prolific performer on stage, radio and TV for the next 60 years. Her Big Maggie was a wonder to behold.
She leaves an incredible legacy as the founder of Listowel Writers’ Week and St John’s Theatre and Arts Centre, and as a mentor to many.
We want to extend our heartfelt sympathy to Martina and Michèle, the wider Relihan and Ryle families, Nora’s artistic and theatrical families, neighbours, and her many friends in Kerry, Ireland and beyond.
