Nora was an important part of our life growing up in Ballyruin, also a very wonderful introduction to the importance of community & service to, she will be deeply missed & thought of, may her gentle soul RIP

“Well done, good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your home in heaven.” If ever there was a deserving title, “Good and Faithful servant” it surely belongs to Nora, God rest her soul. I have memories of Nora, going back to school days in Ballyroan. She was a bright girl, smartly dressed, lovely hair, always neat with her writing, good at her sums, cycling to school every day and with the late Birdie Lalor on the back of her bike when Birdie wasn’t old enough to quality for a place in the bus. Nora was always cheerful, helpful and kind. She kept those qualities throughout her life, qualities of kindness, helpfulness and ready to go the ‘extra mile’ to help others. What a gift she was to the priests and people of the parish, in her native Ballyroan and Abbeyleix, a gift in her ministry of sacristan. She will be sadly missed. May Nora enjoy peace, happiness and eternal rest in her heavenly home.

So sorry to hear of the loss of Nora. Growing up on Ballyruin lane with her and Mickey as neighbours are part of my childhood memories. She would always have chocolate bars bought in for us to have!

I grew up in a house beside Nora and her late brother Mickey, Nora could not have been kinder to us .

I always remember her dropping over bags of Christmas presents. We were lucky enough to attend the celebration of Nora's dedication to the church a few years ago. Rest in Peace Nora, an amazing woman who gave so much.
