I came to know Noreen especially during those heady days of the Cuckoo Walking Festival. It might have been in the course of a stroll on the Island Road between events or a visit to their home to enquire about Finbarr's well-being on hearing he had been unwell. Always kindly, Noreen epitomised good grace with her unfailing, welcoming smile and her inclusiveness of spirit. At the launch of my novel in the community hall she was seated in the last row and the encouraging smile she directed towards me as I awaited the invitation to be interviewed by Mary, lifted some of the anxiety that such occasions engender. Níl aon amhras orm ach go bhfuil Nóirín imithe ar shlí na fírinne agus ag déanamh i dtreo Finbarr, Patrick, John agus Kitty.

Your beautiful mum, now united with her beautiful Finbar.. so sorry for the loss of such a great lady..
