I first met Norman forty years ago when I joined as a junior in KPMG. He was then the leading man of the tax world. He was an inspiration. His lecturing talent was phenomenal. He was generous with his knowledge, and brought a lightness to an arcane subject.

dearest Mark, caroline, paul and John. your dad was a wonderful man. I have so many happy memories of him. laughing, telling stories, singing. I am so sorry to hear of his death. I can't make it on Thursday. my apologies. but i will be with you all in spirit. with much love.
