So saddened on hearing of Normans passing , although we hadn’t seen each other in too many years , I will never forget my fond memories of him and the good times we shared in those lucky moments that I was in his company

Sincere sympathy to the Birthistle family on the death of Norman, a man I came to know when I worked for Bird’s Amusements as a youngster in Killorglin, Killarney, Tralee and Listowel. Although I lost contact with Norman over the years I am lucky to have retained a great relationship with his sister Marion to whom I extend my sympathy. Unfortunately as I am away in Australia at present I am unable to attend the funeral. May Norman rest in peace.

I wish to express our sincere sympathies to Mary, Norman, Grainne, Greg, and the entire Birdthistle family. I have very fond memories since I was a boy meeting Norman with my late father Junior, in Castleisland, Dingle, and the Canaries. He had a fantastic sense of humour and was always very kind. Some great times of course following Munster on their quests for the European Cup.
