First time i met Norman , was at a "Disco" at Harlequins, he was the "Bouncer" , he had a big Cranky head on him ,he kicked us out , NOBODY was aloud to stay in the carpark after the Disco End . Many years later i had him come to my shop to buy a lawnmower , still a big Cranky head on him , Cutting the Cricket pitch was his thing , everytime the mower broke down it was my fault , but after 30 years of his Bluster ,i grew to enjoy him , and we always had the Craic , A big blusterie Teddy bear , Good bye Norman
Sincere condolences to Sarah and Norman's many friends.

Deepest condolences to Norman's family and friends. Norman has been a great constant in Tour de Munster training for the past 16 years, i.e. since Harlequins very kindly agreed to accommodate us in 2009. Always kind and accommodating, he made us feel very welcome. His spirit will live on in his beloved club and in the 'Quins Spins which are key to the success of the Tour de Munster.
Rest In Peace gentle friend to so many!

Sending condolences to Sarah on the passing of her brother Norman. I joined Harlequins in 1960. In those days Norman played as a full back on the 1st Hockey team. Back then there were no facilities. We changed in Billy Ellis's caravan and would then retire to O'Hallorans where Norman would treat us to a few pints. How things have improved in Harlequins largely due to Norman's hard work over the years. Rest in peace Norman.
Sincere sympathy to Norman's family and friends. A great stalwart of Cork Harlequins, who facilitated us so often when requiring an astroturf pitch. May he rest in peace.
Deepest sympathy to Frances on the death of your dear Brother
Sincere sympathies to the family and friends on Norman. May he rest in peace.
Deepest condolences to Norman's family on your sad loss. I first met him playing tennis for Church of Ireland against Douglas LTC in the Glasheen Road days. He was real character as cricket groundsman in Harlequins for so many years where he ruled the roost firmly but kindly. We christened him "Storming Norman" behind his back of course. May he rest in peace.

What will Quins be like without Norman’s presence?
From school girl days to Ladies Vets, from grass pitches to floodlit astroturf he was a THE non changing face of the Club.
How we relished coming in after Vets hockey on a Wednesday night at 10 pm to the fire blazing and Norman making sure we were well warmed before heading home after our Tea!! (Favourite Tipple) and Tayto.
May Norman Rest in Peace after a long life of helping all those who sported and played on the pitches at Farmers Cross. You will surely reap your rewards in Heaven.

Sincere condolences to Normans family and friends. I have many memories of Norman in Harlequins. He had a few rules - respect him, his work, harlequins, his side of the kitchen and his open fire. If you abided by these rules, Norman was always a gentleman. He was definitely the face of Harlequins and will be sorely missed. Ar dheis de go raibh a anam.

Mr Deane, Mr Hertz and Mr Harlequins, perhaps many more ... Very sad to learn of Normans passing, he would have relished HQ 100yr anniversary, not to be unfortunately. I had the pleasure of Normans many moods, opinions, social skills et al during my time in the HHC. Off the playing field, best described as my nemesis, the reality was we both had the clubs best interest at heart. I can honestly say very few, if any, were as committed to Quins as Norman; time has proven that.
May he rest in peace, my condolences to Sarah and his good friends Billy,Margaret and Stan.

Sincerest sympathy to Sarah, Stan, Mags & Billy. Harlequins has lost its godfather, the ‘Dean’ of Farmers cross for 50+ years. He will be truly missed. Although he grumbled at me many times it’s far outweighed by the big smiles and chats I have shared with him.
His epic auctions, support and constant dedication to harlequins will never be forgotten. We were a lucky club to have had him for so long❤️
