Norman King

I had the great pleasure of meeting Norman in April 2023 for the first time. We talked about his upcoming book of poetry and songs and island life through the years. I learned alot from him in that short meeting. Rest in peace.

Met Norman in Lanzarote back in 96'. Great guy had a lovely charming way about him. Was in Sherkin last year and heard he was still on the Island, unfortunately I never met him. RIP Norman

Since the early 1980s I have so many happy memories of Norman & Jo in Sherkin. So much laughter, stories and generally getting up to all kinds of shenanigans.

Devastated to learn of the passing of my special pal for over 50 years. I will miss our lovely chats on the phone and the special connection with his Dad who adored him and and his worldwide wandering and music Norman the only person to sleep through the cyclone Tracy which flattened Darwin Australia. He did give us many worries.

Meeting Norman was one of the high lights of my life , from having pint,listening too you play and building that sun room with you and Joanna, all very fond memories

What a sad day. Norman's death marks the end of a long relationship with a neighbour, friend, entertainer, and all round gas man.

I always enjoyed dropping into Norman on my trips to Sherkin. He was such a spirited character. He had an infectious lust for life and a wonderful outlook. I will always cherish the tales he told me over copious cups of tea. I'm sure BB and those who went before her will have been there to welcome Norman home.
