Tommy. I am so sorry to hear that Nuala has passed away. I always admired her energy and passion for life, travel, mischief and her love for Chapelizod. I looked forward to her visits to clinic to catch up on the local news or hear about her latest adventure. She always spoke so highly of you and enjoyed her life with you, exploring the world. Chapelizod was lucky to have her advocating for all the various amenities and she was especially passionate about preserving it as much as possible. A great life lived to the fullest but still cut short. A powerful woman who didn’t suffer fools. I’ll miss our chats and her smile. So very sorry for your loss. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a n-anam. Tommie, sincere condolences to you on the sudden passing of Nuala. We are very grateful for the way Nuala welcomed us into Chapelizod village and for the kindness shown by her on multiple occasions. She always struck me as a remarkable woman when I saw her advocate on behalf of the village, strong and forceful when necessary but also graceful and kind in all her interactions. Her presence will be badly missed by many.

I'm sad to hear of Nuala's sudden passing. We were at school together, in Chapelizod and in Holy Faith Clarendon Street. My family left Chapelizod shortly after school due to my dad's death and I only met her a few times over the years. I waa always amazed by all she was doing, especially her work for Chapelizod. I met you briefly, Tommy and sympathise sincerely on your loss. Rest in peace my old companion. Your work here is done. Brid

As a work colleague, travel companion, adventure partner and advisor, she was always there to lend a hand, provide salient advice or use her sense of humour to make us laugh.

Chapelizod was her abiding passion. After she retired, she devoted her energies into COVA, the Heritage Society, CHAT, Tidy Towns and all festivals and parties in the village.

We were very sad to hear about Nuala’s sudden death. She was such a kind and caring person. Her involvement in all aspects of Chapelizod life, making the village a better place for the community, will never be forgotten. She was a treasured friend to us. Together, they installed the plumbing and heating in the Bandroom restoration project and played a huge part in giving Chapelizod a much needed community hall. Nuala was also a founder member of COVA, Chapelizod Festival, Chapelizod Heritage Society, Chapelizod Tidy Towns and the annual Santa Party committee. As editor of CHAT magazine for 25 years, Nuala captured the essence of a small village gradually becoming citified. Nuala's Daffodile Day fundraisers were legendary. Rest in peace, friend and karamic villager.

We were shocked and saddened yesterday to hear of the passing of one of our founder members, Nuala Deighan. Born and raised in Chapelizod her commitment to the village over the years was immense. The invaluable work she did with COVA, Chapelizod Tidy Towns, Chapelizod Heritage society ,Chapelizod Festival and CHAT magazine was immense. She worked tirelessly to preserve the rich heritage of Chapelizod and was very proud of her village. She received an award in 2022 from the Lord Mayor for her dedicated work .May Nuala rest in peace. Ni bheidh a leitheid aris ann.
