My sympathy to Gearóid and all Nuala's family. I loved our chats in the HSA canteen, where Nuala would tell us all interesting things about her hobbies - such as lock picking. Nuala was always positive, kind and caring. She has a great scientific mind and was a great asset to occupational hygiene in Ireland.

I met Nuala through her work with the HSA presenting at many Health & Safety conferences and later through her involvement with the OHSI. She was a genuinely lovely person, very gentle in her manner with a great knowledge of her area of expertise. It was always a pleasure to spend time in her company. May she rest in peace.

I met Nuala at HSA but our friendship developed after her retirement when we’d meet up - often in Cork where she showed me some great spots for eats, drinks and banter.
We had such interesting conversations. Nuala was a rare gem - she combined the smart scientific mind with a deep, philosophic spirit. Wise, non judgemental and always interesting. I am the better for knowing her, and will miss her. Rest in peace.

I was very sad to hear of Nula’s passing.

I met Nuala during the 80s but then lost touch.

I found her to be such an elegant,calm and gentle lady. I remember during the 80s, a group of us civil servants including Nuala ,went to the Gaeltacht for a week learning Irish.I think she liked the Irish language.
