My sincerest sympathies to Nuala’s family on her passing. I had the privilege of knowing her while I served as curate in the parish of Baltinglass (1990-94). She became Principal of Grangecon NS where she had taught for many years. We served together on the Board of Management of Grangecon NS. I admired her enormously. As a teacher and Principal, Miss O’Connell was a role model for her students. As an educator, she brought out the best in her students and encouraged them to achieve their potential. Her style was collaborative, collegial and inclusive. Ar dheis Dé go raibh sí. Gnúis Dé go bhfeice sí; ceolta na nAingeal go gcloise sí. Requiescat in pace.
