Heartfelt and sincere condolences to you, the parents and sisters of Ogie. There is no pain like the pain of losing a beloved child. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. We lost our only daughter in an accident three years ago, aged 27, so we know and feel your heartache too well. May God bless you all and give you strength.

I have been looking for the right words to write now for 2 weeks - to put into words how sorry I am for you Brendan, Esther, Claire and Áine. The truth is there are no words. You lost a hero and I just can’t get you out of my head. Having watched your interview on tg4 yesterday Brendán and the way you have carried yourselves since this awful tragedy occurred, you should be proud of the strength and courage you have shown. Ógie didn’t lick it from a stone. You’re an incredible family. Sending you so much love.

Esther, my prayers and thoughts are with you and your husband and family. I hope you all find comfort in the many memories you share of a fine son and brother. May Ogie rest in peace

I have thought about this young man and his family every day since hearing of his tragic loss almost two weeks ago. So very hard to comprehend. The loss of a child is every parents worst nightmare, by all accounts Mr & Mrs O'Duffaigh could not have wanted for a better son, so much to be proud of. An absolute credit to them. The pain of Ogie's untimely passing must be unbearable to those who love him. May you all find the strength to journey through the darkness in which you find yourselves. Rest in peace Ogie, you achieved more in your 19 years than many of us achieve in twice that. You have touched many hearts, including mine.

What this young man achieved in 19 short years is remarkable. His leadership was clearly infectious. His parents wonderful and his siblings supportive.

I did not know you Ogie but I know grief. I also know that God takes the good and golden ones. The pain of such loss is excruciating for those of us left behind.

I extend my deepest sympathies to your beautiful parents. They must be so very proud of you. They did a marvellous job raising you. Your two beautiful sisters they will miss you with every passing day. To your teammates you will be immortal. Your legacy will live forever in the hearts and minds of your community.

Ogie’s death has left me so upset and heartbroken, I didn’t know him personally but I’ve cried every day since hearing about his death.
His dad was a fantastic teacher of mine. The most dedicated, hard working, kind hearted, selfless and excellent teacher I’ve ever had! he went above and beyond to help his students learn and succeed when he was an Irish teacher! He is the reason I achieved so well in my leaving cert and obtained the career I had hoped and prayed for.

Ogie was just such an admirable, confident, humble , amazing and talented person! He was blessed with the most amazing parents ! He will never be forgotten!!! He is a legend and his legacy will live on forever! He was blessed with the most amazing family and I will pray for them every day that they are able to bear this cross that they have been faced with. Love to Brendan, Esther, Claire and Aine! Ogie is so precious to so many people and always will be, he will never ever be forgotten, x
