Deepest condolences to Liubov, Nikolay, and all her extended family. I had the pleasure of meeting Olena when she first arrived in Ireland and began practicing her English. She was such a warm and lovely person. I greatly admired her courage, resilience, and positivity as she adapted to her new life here and supported Liubov. May she rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to Olena’s children, Liubov and Nikolay, and to all her family and friends. Olena was such a dear and beautiful person and she will be sadly missed.

When I spent time with Olena I was always struck by her strength and resilience, her strong faith and her great love for and pride in her family. She told me she rose early each day and spent some time thinking about and praying for each of her family members in turn. She worried about her father and mother and other family members. She had many contacts who kept her up to date. She was very proud of Nikolay and the work he was doing. She loved to show photos of his cermonies. She loved Olena and her grandson Ilya and loved to talk about them. She loved Liubov dearly and was determined to be the best mother she could be under very difficult circumstances. Liubov was a great daughter and made Olena proud. Olena took on the difficult challenge of learning English with unwavering dedication from the beginning. When her treatment came to an end and when she finally had some strength, she had already returned to learning English. She loved to converse and had a great sense of humour. People who knew Olena will miss her very much. May her gentle soul rest in peace.
