I met Olive only once, and that briefly, on the fringe of the events at which Eily's half-century in Holy Orders was being marked. An elegant lady it was obvious that while she had made the long journey in support of Eily she was coping with a heavy burden of grief. On the occasion of her departure I am mindful too of gregarious, kindly Tim(my) also who went before her, to prepare the way as it were. Suaimhneas socair dóibh beirt i dteannta a mac, Daniel. I was so very sorry to hear of the death of dear Olive.
Olive was a wonderful, generous, caring person who, together with Tim, always watched out for and took exceptional care of anybody going to New York from Tarbert in former times.
I could never forget her kindness to me when she and Tim got me a job during my J1 trip to N.Y.
She insisted on giving me dinner every night before packing me off to do the night shift in a warehouse!
