She was a Big ‘A’. Artist, Author and Adventurer, until illness put paid to adventuring. A very talented lady and always the smartest person in the room. Her encyclopediac knowledge on all matter of subjects together with her quick wit and self-deprecating humour made her a very special and unforgettable person. Her love of nature which shone through in her many illustrations and her contribution to heritage in Ireland will be her legacy.
For me, it is those days walking to and from school where Olive would teach me all about the natural world and in later years the many photographs of all the adventures undertaken that I will remember fondly. RIP dearest Olive.
