To Mary and family, I’m so sad to have just heard the sad news of the death of Oliver. I have great memories of visiting the vintage pub throughput my years serving in Irishtown Garda station. May Oliver rest in peace.

Great memories of Ollie. Everything about everyone of the Gleesons WAS INTEGRITY DECENCY AND GENEROSITY. Ollie aided and abetted by Arthur ran a great show and treated everyone with impeccable manners whether you were a Tanaiste, Minister , Senator or a local. Con aided by Ned and occasionally Paddy ran an equally professional operation in the back shop also dealing with some notables over the years none more so than the man who sprang the notorious spy George Blake SEAN BOURKE. Bourke was a celebrity in the pub with people coming in just to see him and boy did he love it. And not forgetting the man who started it all their father Paddy a lovely man
