Dear John Edward. My sincerest condolences on the passing of Oliver. I remember him from St. Catherine's Maynooth and latterly used to bump into him in on The School of Education corridor in TCD when he was studying for his Masters. I met him during his Commencement there and later in Commons where he celebrated his wonderful achievement. It was always a pleasure to chat and catch up. May his gentle warm soul rest in peace. I have just learnt of the passing of cousin Oliver today and I send my deep condolences to you John Edward, the extended family and friends as well as the many school students and guidance and schools colleagues and community.
I met Oliver in 1997 when I visited Clifden for the first time. Oliver, with a gentle and caring manner, shared his keenness with a new teaching career ahead. What an amazing journey it became - dedicated, caring and full of kindness.
May we remember to be kind and loving with ourselves as we remember and share all the best of you Oliver as you rest in Peace.

Dearest John Edward , Maureen and Brid i only learned last night of Olivers passing . Im heartbroken for him and for you all. I cant believe that i didnt hear this. I dont know how that could happen. We've been friends for years and i loved him dearly . I was due to contact him for the christmas to arrange a meet up. I loved his wit and fun and character and his dedication to his career and his beloved students. His great love for your mum and dad always always stood out and was so so endearing . He gave so much to everybody

I am truely so sorry to not have heard this . Oliver was a true legend and a friend i cherished dearly . I am so devastated for him . This world of ours has lost a remarkable human being.

I had the privilege of meeting Oliver on several occasions, and one memory that stands out is a wonderful walk we shared just outside Clifden, together with other friends. I’ll never forget how he brought the path to life, sharing the history of the walkway and its beautiful surroundings with such knowledge and with his trademark kindness and good humour. Sincerest condolonces to John Edward and all of the Joyce family. I am just shocked at Oliver's passing. I worked with him in BCS from 2015 - 2018 and he was a wonderful colleague and friend. He did his utmost to help me settle into the school in my first few weeks which was something I was deeply appreciative of. He was a great friend to me in my remaining years in BCS and beyond. He loved a laugh and I don't think I remember him uttering a bad word about anyone. He was a wonderfully kind man and he will be missed immearsurably by everyone that knew him. May he rest in peace.

I am deeply saddened by the loss of Oliver, a true gentleman whose love, compassion, and care touched the lives of so many in Ballinteer Community School. Oliver’s unwavering dedication to the students and their families was extraordinary.

As a psychotherapist he invited me to support the school, I had the privilege of knowing him. Every Monday morning, he greeted me with warmth, a smile, and an energy that was truly irreplaceable.

Oliver’s presence was a gift to all who knew him, and I am certain that wherever he is now, he continues to be a blessing. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family, the staff, and especially the students who were so fortunate to have had him in their lives.

Just heard the shocking news of your brother's untimely passing. I had the privilege of knowing Oliver through St. Catherine's, Maynooth many year's ago. He always had a smile on his face. I really enjoyed chatting & having the banter with him. He'd a sharp sense of humour & also had a very caring, kind & generous nature, always willing to help others. I worked with him one Summer teaching English in the Salesians in Celbridge.
