Deepest condolences on the sudden passing of Ollie. A true gentleman and a gentle soul. He had a positive impact on everyone that was fortunate enough to meet and spend time with him. I fondly recall our Good Friday gatherings at his home where everyone was made to feel welcome. Rest in peace - never forgotten and always in my heart. It was a privilege to know you 💔

Sincere condolences to Oliver and extended family on the sad passing of Oliver. Will miss our regular chats in the park and supply of tomatoes. A true gentleman. May his gentle soul rest in peace
My sympathies to Olly's sister, brothers and extended family. While uniqueness is a quality that might be attributed to any and all of us, in the case of Olly it characterised his whole self. His views on life and the world we live in were his own and not simply a regurgitation of what he had read or heard elsewhere. This thoughtfulness shone through in his professional life in the Dept of CS where he had a knack of coming up with novel solutions to problems, most likely due to his ability to look at what was put before him from a distinct perspective. This quality extended into a second and unpaid hobby/career (woodworking) where his skills and rigour forged an enviable perfectionism. I was fortunate to spend many hours with him in his workshop where he was always generous with his time and guidance. I can still hear him say "Why do you want to do it that way?" And on reflection, he was almost always right. He always had a project in progress - a dresser for one friend, a table for another, garden chairs for a third. Closer friends of his than I will be well aware of his unstinting generosity.
Beneath his ever-present quirky sense of humour lay a deep humanity and kindness. And a great sense of fairness too. All those who knew Olly will have been aware of this.
He was a good man to know. May Olly rest in peace.
Sincere Condolences to Oliver's family and friends. Ollie was a great neighbour and will be truly missed.

So sorry to hear of Ollie’s passing.

I don’t think I ever met him when he was having a bad day, he was alway smiling, joking and kind to all of us student, graduates and of course his colleagues in the computer science department of UCC

I always felt he was born to be a problem solver, and he excelled at the problems computers could provide him.

May he rest in peace, in the clouds above us (or simply just in the cloud)...
May Oliver's gentle soul rest in peace.
So sad to hear this news, he was such a kind gentle person. I was lucky to have had a lovely chat with him at the Togher Community Garden recently.
