Oliver (Olly) Stack

Only just heard of the sad news that Olly passed. I worked with him years ago. He was a great bloke, very sorry for yer loss. May he rest in peace.

18th October – Feast of St. Luke
Only this weekend I heard from my brother Sean of the sudden and sad passing of Oliver. We had many memorable days in Midleton (Technical) School before graduating with ‘group certs’ in 1965.
On one occasion, in the Rural Science Class, he whispered to me that he was thinking of buying a pig. He had to repeat same, a little louder, to Mr. Fitzgerald. After the Tech we both went to Verolme Cork Dockyard. Oliver then went on, after a few years, to the Crawford School of Art – making his time there memorable too.
Anyone who knew Oliver Stack never had a gloomy look.

So sad to hear of ollys passing.I worked with olly in pat Gallagher's workshop in kells, and he donated a painting to a charity event up here in Donegal .he was a great character and will be sadly missed.R.I.P OLLY
