Sincere sympathies to Vivienne and all the Ward family. Ollie was a great character - a sharp, serious, sincere, honest mind combined with a love of sport and a most entertaining conversational style all of his own . A great balance of integrity and fun, and his face always seemed to carry a smile. He will be sadly missed, but won't be forgotten by anyone who had the pleasure of his company.

Deepest sympathy to Vivienne and all members of the Ward family on the sad loss of Oliver. May he rest in peace. Mary & Jeroen Holtkamp, Castlepollard
Very sorry to hear of Olly's passing from Eugene Reilly. My abiding memory of Olly concerns a Cup match in Dalymount years ago, between Derry City and Shelbourne. We had a young boy staying with us who was wheelchair bound and a mad football fan, who was keen to go. Knowing the huge crowds that followed Derry City at the time, I went to Olly and explained the problem. He said "Leave it with me". On match day, I turned up as per Olly's instructions with my son, two friends, and the lad in the wheelchair. We were ushered onto the pitch and watched the game from near the corner flag! The match ended in a 1-all draw, with Alex Kristic scoring for Derry. Needless to say, we were all eternally grateful to Olly and Bohemians FC. ( Incidentally, my son and his pals are now committed
members of Bohs!)
A great memory of Olly and his kindness. May he rest in peace.

Vivienne, Monica, Melanie and Michael, I'm so sorry to hear about Oliver's passing. I worked alongside Oliver in the NETC and have such fond memories of a kind, professional, wonderful friend and colleague. My husband Paul also worked with Oliver and he too sends his deepest sympathies to you all. Oliver will be sorely missed by you all, and we're thinking of you at this very sad time.
Oliver was an absolute gentleman, extremely generous and helpful in any way he could possibly be. As a neighbour of mine in Castlepollard it was always a pleasure to spend time in his company, he was unfailingly cheerful and friendly. A very keen organic gardener he was a regular supplier of delicious fresh produce to myself and many others. Very well read and travelled he could talk about anything. Many a very pleasant night and early morning, was spent with himself and P.J. in my old shack, where we solved the problems of The World gathered around the stove with a few cans. Sincere sympathy to all the family. Rest in eternal happiness Oliver.
