Very sorry and sad to learn of Orla's passing. Sincere sympathy to her daughter Aoife and her family and to her siblings Barbara, Ken and Declan and their families at this sad time. It was always a pleasure to meet her and no doubt she will rest easy now. RIP

So many happy memories of Orla from our time in 3W, Agriculture House, lots of chats, fun and laugher. Orla was a great listener, always kind, engaging and lots of empathy. An amazing artist and loved her art. I remember Orla's stories of Aoife and her joy when Adam was born. Her love for you both shone through and she was so proud of you both.

This is sad news. I knew Orla through the COFORD Council; a gentle woman.

Thank you for everything when I was growing up, Orla.
You were a wonderful, kind and generous soul. You were always willing to help when I was in need of a place to stay, food or a shoulder.

Your art back in the mid-late 90s was the first time I felt like I could walk into a painting. I loved art and you had so much expression and emotion in yours. Even as a child, this fascinated me.
I remember I would save my Easter egg wrappers and bring them to you every year to see what you would create next.
My most memorable piece of art you created was a dark forest, huge portrait, it reminded me of your garden in Pleasant street, covered in trees and shrubs, like being in the forests of alice in wonderland, when she lost her way. You were a creative genius, so intelligent. I could tell you anything, and you never judged me.

What I will always remember is how much you adored Aoife. Always you both, together, linking arms and on your walks. I can still see you both walking up Pleasant street, hand in hand, rocking the best style/outfits (the many fashion shows me and Aoife had with your wardrobe!). And me, looking out my window of 3 Pleasant street, waiting until you both arrived at your door of no. 21, so I could come over and spend some time.
What an incredible daughter you have raised. Your legacy lives on through Aoife now. I wish you rest easy, be at peace in every way knowing she and your grandson Adam are so loved by us all.
