If ever there was a lady that was loved by all it was Orla, and justifiably so as she brought so much joy to so many, whether that be by her music, her smile or her friendship. My parents adored her and she them and she will always be 'Mick's girlfriend' to me. So sad for Bernard, and all the family (almost all our babysitters over the years) as she was one in a million. Sending much love to you all and wishing Orla music and laughter in heaven. She is in the best company.

To Sweet Orla,
A fond memory, guitar in hand leading us to "The Beer Garden", and joining us, a number of Irish folk in singing "Bye Bye Miss American Pie", which the Irish knew the words, but the Irish Americans didn't, but made do. The police, I was reminded, told us to go home.
Orla was the sweetest person I have ever met, and I can still see her rushing down the street to meet us upon arrival.

Unfortunately we were out of the country & unable to attend her funeral but I was there in spirit & thinking of Orla & all of you. I grew up knowing Orla well, especially as she taught us guitar lessons in 5th & 6th class & sure like us, she was always around the town and ready for a chat & bit of craic!
