Orla Hunt

To little Sadie, Fiona, Jimmy, Caoimhe and Aoife, sincerest condolences on the untimely loss of beautiful Orla. We were lucky enough meet Orla and Sadie back in the days of Carmel’s crèche and have been bumping into each other ever since. Orla always had infectious energy and a twinkle in her eye. No better lady for the chats and laughs as we watched our girls attempt to play GAA and soccer. May she rest in peace. Thinking of you all at this terribly sad time.

I have just learned of the passing of Orla and I am so devastated to hear this heartbreaking news. Orla was such a beautiful person inside and out, an adoring mother of her daughter Sadie and sister of Fiona. My heart felt condolences and thoughts are with all of Orla's family, her friends and all of the colleagues who were fortunate to have worked with her (including me). I am so shocked and saddened by this news.

I am so very sorry for the loss of the bright shining light that was Orla. I was lucky enough to work with her in Consular Division when I started in the Department and in the midst of some really tough consular cases we had so many laughs together - much of it instigated by Orla's sense of utter divilment. She had such a fantastic laugh! And she was so incredibly kind to citizens in distress. We were a merry band and I remember that time fondly, with Orla at the heart of it. When I met her again more recently she was full of love for her beloved Sadie.

So so sorry to hear of Orla's passing. She was such a warm and fun colleague in Lufthansa many years ago- she brought people together and had such a zest for life! I reconnected with her in London years later and she was as warm and generous as ever. Huge condolences to her adored Sadie, Fiona, Jimmy and her much loved nieces who brought her so much joy. May you always feel her love with you.

Dear Orla, it is hard to believe that you are gone... Your passing leaves me speechless, while your voice and laughter still ring in my ears... I remember your sense of humour and our sessions at Le Seize after exhausting days, where we used to let off steam over a couple of glasses of white wine! You leave behind so many memories in the lives of the people you met around the world who loved and valued you, and now you are sailing to other shores with a bundle of love, which I hope will embrace your loved ones and bring them a bit of softness and comfort. Both the good and challenging times spent together, with the gang from the Paris embassy.... Laëtitia, Phiphi, etc. will remain precious and forever engraved in my memory.

I was so sorry to hear of Orla's untimely passing. I have known her for many years, through family, friends and of course skiing. Needless to say Orla was in her element mixing, socialising and passing on the skiing bit. What a bright light she was.
