I just heard of Oscar's passing today, in January 2025. I am sad to hear that he is gone. I want to say that I knew him through his, and my, work. He was a bright, friendly and well loved man with a great approach to his work. May he rest in peace. 🙏

Oscar was one of the good ones, he took Roisin under his wing at U12's when she was the only girl on the U12 boys team. He always looked out for her and always stopped to chat to her over the years to catch up on her rugby journey. He will be sorely missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing him in Tullow RFC. Oscar has been a constant in our lives for over 11 years from training Freddie at Tullow U7's and thereafter,the hundreds of training sessions , home and away matches that we stood together on the line. His passion for rugby and the players he coached and nurtured was always so obvious and infectious.
Our little sideline gang are going to really miss all the chats, jokes, ref calls, victory cheers and loosing claps that we all shared with Oscar over the years.
There will be a bench coat sized gap on our sideline that will never be filled. RIP Oscar.

We are absolutely shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of a very special person. Oscar provided strength and assistance to a South African boy and his mum who were new to the Irish rugby community and was always on hand to give a pep talk or a lift to both Kian and myself.

He was always willing to help at the drop of a hat and inspired Kian to be a better young man and rugby player.

We cannot imagine the pain and grief the family is going through but to say you had a very special person in your lives is an understatement. Our deepest sympathies at this very difficult time and we are devastated that we can’t be with you today but we are with you in spirit and via webcam until we get back.
