I have many, many fond memories of spending the 6 weeks school holidays every year with Uncle Owen and Gran.
He was a loveable giant who we drove mad when my cousins came to visit.
We all loved the tractor rides!

Sorry to hear of Owenie's passing. A lifelong friend who we enjoyed visiting, when we drove up from Kerry. A big "thank you" to Margaret for giving him such great care in the years before he moved into the care home, and also his friend Bennin for visiting regularly. He has left many memories which we shall cherish. R I P.

Sincere sympathy to the McGagh family and friends and neighbours of Owen on the passing of a true gentleman. On the few occasions that I met him he was both a witty and wise person. He acted as an extra in the film Alfred the Great back in 1968 and he even made my first hurl. A few years ago when we met I reminded him of that and his witty remark was “I heard you nearly killed some other player with it”. A man with a sense of humour who knew I had no need for a second hurl! RIP Owen
