I have been meaning to leave a message sooner . It took me a while to figure out who it was. Owen rented a house from us at Waterloo Clifden before he bought his own house in The Spires . He was a pure gentleman . It was a pleasure to have met him. He got a fine long life God Bless him. Condolences to all his family on losing your lovely Owen

Outside of the auctions, and his cherished family, Owen's life commitment was to Mount Merrion Parish. Together with the four Parish Priests on his watch, his contribution for, and on behalf of, the laity in the Parish was exceptional and immeasurable.

It was an absolute pleasure to have learned so much from him, and to have worked alongside him for the best part of 30 years. While he has been missed in MM since early 2019, those memories remain, and it is only fitting that he is now reunited with Kathleen.

My sympathies to Paula, and all the Murphy family on the passing of Owen. I hold fond memories of a lovely man back in the early 80's! May his gentle soul find peace and a safe lodging.

Sincere sympathy Owen, Paula, Colm, Michelle and your families. Up until he moved into the Little Sisters, Owen continued to contribute actively to everything that was going on in our parish/local community. Down the years, his involvement in the Parish Schools, Community Centre, Communications, Liturgy, Finance, Sacristans, Parish Lotto, Church Maintenance and so many task forces for special events could fill a few volumes. His unique contribution to what the Parish has become today was how he always seemed to come up with new ways forward, not just the what and the why of ideas/projects but also the how. He had a way of getting us all excited and energized for Exhibitions, Community Days, Millennium preparations, anything that would make life more meaningful for the people of the area. Owen, we have been missing you around while you have been in Roebuck, but now we know that we can call on you again for inspiration into the years ahead. We are sure you won’t forget us. May you rest in peace.
