My dearest brother, my childhood friend Özkan,
on August 22nd, when I heard the news from your dearest wife Maria, I was shocked. My eyes were full of tears but I could not cry.
You know, some people cannot cry because of too much pain. That's excatly what I had.
In Turkey, there is a saying; " başın sağ olsun" which means let your pain be healed. However it is gonna be very difficult to heal my pain. I am not gonna delete your phone number in my contact list, as if you are still alive. I am gonna let it stay there so that I can look at it now and then.
Let God's light enlighten your path to eternity.
My prayers will always be with you.

Özkan
Since I met him 1997 summer I have never seen his face without smiling. Of course in life there is hard times that people get in fear, pain or any negative thoughts. Let me tell you one of his worst moments we shared. It was in 97 or 98 summer we heard that he had a very bad traffic accident in Bodrum me and my husband started to check all the hospitals in the area and found him in Mugla hospital which is theee hours away from Bodrum. I went to Mugla hospital found him in the corridore he didn’t have any help even first aid and he was suffering of pain and ache. I signed the papers of having his responsibility rented an ambulance and took him back to Bodrum to a private hospital. In an ambulance we traveled like three hours together. He was in really bad condition with pain. Even under this circumstances he was smiling, trying to cheer me up and he was sorry for me I had to deal with so many things for him. Me and my husband did not only lose a friend but this world lost one of the beautiful soul. I will always remember him with his smiling face and with his cheerful manner. Rest in peace my dear friend. We love you.
