Dear Catherine
I only read of Paddy’s sad passing on Saturday afternoon And it was too late for me to attend his funeral..
Words cannot express how
deeply sorry I am . My sincerest condolences to you, Colm Nicola , Ashling and the extended family.
I was your family GP for over 25 years until I closed my practice in 2002.
However we remained firm friends. I frequently met Paddy out on walks and it was always a pleasure to hear his great knowledge of Classical music.
My last chat with him was when he was walking around Broadway estate ,earlier this year , building up his strength following treatment.
He was a kind and gentle person , a great neighbour and a pillar of the community.
He will be very sadly missed.
My thoughts are with you at this very sad time.
May his gentle soul rest in peace

Sincere sympathy on the passing of one of life's greats.
Catherine and family -- my deepest sympathy.
Eileen, deeply sorry to hear about the death of your brother Paddy. Margaret remembers from those far off days of childhood, that Paddy used to lend her, his comic on a weekly basis. He was also the first person to introduce her to classical music. I worked briefly with Paddy in Irish Cement in the Summer of 1962. We used to cycle home together to Phibsboro, after work, he on his tall bike, me on my small bike. Then he got a new racing bike, and I inherited his tall bike, so thanks to Paddy, I went up in the world. Condolences also to his wife Catherine and all her family. A true gentleman, who will be missed. However, we will certainly smile with recognition, if ever, we hear an aria coming from the direction of Heaven
Deepest sympathy Catherine and family- so sorry for your loss.

Heartfelt condolences to Catherine and to all their nearest and dearest.
Irish friends of opera and indeed opera enthusiasts overseas will mourn his loss. His devoted and selfless service to opera and to singers here and abroad, past and present, is irreplaceable.
But it is safely enshrined in those very archives which he so lovingly compiled; he was surely unique.

He was always a 'larger-than-life' figure and left a great impression on all those who knew him - a really great guy! May he rest in peace.
Our deepest sympathy to Catherine and all Paddy’s family! A wonderful man, with such great knowledge of Opera and Operatic Singers. He was so generous in sharing his knowledge and we have some treasured copies of recordings which kindly gave to me, of some of our wonderful Irish Singers. May he enjoy eternal rest, with all the choirs of Heaven!
My sincere condolences to all the family on the death of Paddy. An extraordinary man, he was an inspiration to all the opera world.
Very sorry indeed to hear of the passing of Paddy - the go-to assiduous enthusiast of collecting, preserving, keeping safe recordings and operatic knowledge. Without his achievements, operatic Ireland would have been a great deal poorer.

One of the greatest enthusiasts and cultivators of lyrical music in the world has passed away. PADDY BRENNAN.
For anyone who was lucky enough,as I was,to start their career in Ireland,he was the person who left a deep trace of opera knowledge wanted to curate a real archive of programming and recordings of young singers that became authentic celebrities.
May he rest in peace. I will pray and pray for him.
Deepest condolences from my wife,Angela and I to your dear wife, children and grandchildren.
