Sympathies to Paddy’s family and friends. I was a classmate of Paddy’s in St. Pat’s in 1958 and thanks to reunions was always delighted to meet him. He made a wonderful contribution to many through all his endeavours and I hope this memory helps his family in their grief. He will rest in peace.

I first met Paddy through work back in 2006 and I quickly formed the opinion that he was a kind and decent person and my subsequent interactions with him did nothing but reinforce my initial conclusion.
Paddy was indeed a kind, decent, honest and hardworking person. A dedicated Public Servant in the Department of Agriculture, who was very highly respected by his colleagues and by the farming community throughout County Cavan and further afield.
Paddy was also a dedicated family man and while not boastful, he always spoke of his family with great pride and affection.
No conversation with Paddy could ever conclude without a reference to his great passion that was gardening. Good advice was always offered when sought, but always given by way of reference to his own wide experience.
Paddy will be greatly missed by his family, by his many friends and neighbours and of course his former work colleagues.
May his gentle soul rest in peace.
