My condolences to all Paddy's family especially so soon after your Mam's passing. I first met Paddy in Aghada in 1990. In later years our paths crossed when we served together on the Glounthaune Meals n Wheels committee where Paddy was treasurer. He loved to chat about the great outdoors and his time planning various hill walks. RIP Paddy

It is with sadness and regret on hearing of your dear Dads passing . To all the family we extend our deepest sympathies .

My sincerest condolences to the Gallagher Family on the passing of Paddy.

Although we were acquainted only a short number of months, it was clearly evident to me what a kind, gentle, intelligent and warm-hearted man Paddy was. In fact, I felt all of the above on every occasion that we shared a journey together, be it by foot or by car.

On a number of occasions we would sit along the waterfront in Cobh looking across Lower Cork Harbour to Aghada and he reminisced fondly of happy days there at work with the ESB.

His knowledge and appreciation of wildlife, and wild birds in particular, when on our woodland or coastline walks, was at times almost astonishing to behold.

A gentleman to the core, now resting above with his darling wife, Marianne.

God bless his dear soul.

I am very sorry to learn of Paddy's death. I overlapped with him in Aghada in the 1980's. He was always very pleasant, kind and considerate.

I first met Paddy about 6 or 8 years ago. Paddy was leading occasional walks, mostly on the Comeraghs and Knockmealdowns, sometimes on the Galtees. It was a pleasure to walk with him. He had phenomenal knowledge of the hills, was always courteous to fellow walkers, and was never in a hurry, always respecting other walkers comfortable pace. Paddy always kept meticulous details of the walks, noted way marks and particular features. I've missed walking with him in recent years. Sincere sympathy to all of Paddy's family.
