During the 1980s and 90s Paddy voluntary gave a huge amount of his time and effort for the benefit of many teenagers in the Callan Scouts.
The skills and the qualities that Paddy showed us, are still being used today by many in their daily lives. He opened our eyes to the great outdoors and the beauty of the natural world that we are surrounded by. I recall the forests hikes, the fishing, the birdwatching, the summer camps in Bonmahon, Dunmore East, Jenkinstown and Woodstock, the Patricks Day parades, the building of campfires and barbecues and of learning to meet and respect new friends.

Thank you Paddy, for generously sharing your many talents, skills and above all your good humour with us through it all. For all those who met you, whether young or old, you never failed to lift our spirits. May you rest in peace now and enjoy your rewards in heaven.
